Creating a “Funnel” in Google Data Studio

Don't you love it when you can create a video, forget you did, and then 14 months later stumble upon it and it's still relevant?

Well, that's exactly what happened here!

I'm glad it's still relevant because this one took me a few hours to make…

…it is not only 30+ mins in recording, but I edited it for a better viewing as well.

There have been some minus changes with the Data Studio interface since I made this video, naturally. Data Studio changes a ton! Especially as of late.

One of the bigger changes, relating to this video, is how you used to have to use data blending for conversion rate calculations (calculated fields between two steps). Now it's SO much easier as GDS will pair up a join key (most commonly the date) for you, so you don't have to data blend manually all the time.

Note: You still want to make sure it is “guessing” the right dividing between two fields when you are using it – I'd say it's 50/50 in terms of guessing what to divide what by – so you'll have to check everything – as you should anyway!

Hopefully these concepts sare what you take away from this…and like always, if you have any questions, leave them below! Happy Data-Studio-ing!
